The other day, I picked up my very first trio of New Zealands from a very good friend of mine. 2 does and 1 buck is what I wanted. This is the very first time I've ever had NZ's so it's going to be very interesting on how I end up liking the breed. So far, I really like them a lot. So these guys are going to be used for meat and show production. I know there's a lot of people against raising rabbits for meat but at the end of the day meat is meat and rabbits can be used for meat or show etc. I will be doing a project on deciding which way is better to feed the babies. I will be doing an experiment using the babies after weaning and putting one litter on a straight pellet based diet and the other litter on a natural diet. This will take a few months as I'm going to be doing this 3 times with each litter of NZ's I produce. I will most likely create a new tab on my website to talk about the project and post on the findings. If you are looking to raise your own meat, stay tuned for the new tab on the website and how the project is going!
